Scope & Ethics
The methodology, boundaries, and ethical guidelines governing The Noble Islam AI.
1. Purpose and Limitations
The Noble Islam is a research and reference tool designed to make authentic Islamic texts more accessible. It is not a scholar, mufti, or replacement for traditional Islamic scholarship.
The AI is strictly scoped to retrieve, summarize, and translate existing classical texts. It is explicitly programmed to refuse generating novel fatwas (religious rulings) on contemporary, personal issues. For personal guidance, users are directed to consult local, qualified scholars.
2. Grounded Generation (Anti-Hallucination)
To prevent AI hallucinations (inventing facts), the platform employs a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline. The AI can only construct answers based on the context retrieved from our curated database of verified texts.
If a query cannot be answered using the provided classical sources, the AI is instructed to explicitly state: "I cannot find a reliable source for this in my current database," rather than attempting to guess or fabricate an answer.
3. Theological Neutrality and Inclusion
The platform is designed to be comprehensive and academically neutral. When addressing matters of Fiqh (jurisprudence) or Aqeedah (theology), the AI provides perspectives from the four major Sunni schools of thought (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali), as well as prominent scholarly consensus (Ijma) where applicable.
4. Transparency and Citations
Every response generated by the platform must be accompanied by structured citations. Users will always see the exact book, author, volume, and page/hadith number used to construct the answer, allowing them to verify the AI's output against the original Arabic manuscripts.
